There are so many angles to this 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee 440+6 4 Speed, that my brain just doesnt know where to begin. I could position this incredible car so many different ways: the one and only Bengal Super Bee; the one that came back home or; the best restored 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee on the planet. Any one of those angles would be appropriate for this Super Bee, yet choosing just one wouldnt tell the whole story. So I had better go get a fresh cup of coffee this is gonna be a long one. Our story starts right here in Ohio, with Tom Kneer Dodge, located at 3730 Harrison Avenue in Cincinnati. Tom Kneer just happened to be a hardcore football AND a Dodge dealer. Mix the two together and you get the Bengal Charger. Fifty "Bengal" Chargers were special ordered by Tom Kneer to commemorate the Cincinnati Bengals' first year in the American Football League (AFL). All of the cars were painted "Tiger" orange and had black "Bengal" Stripes, black vinyl tops and black interiors.
