2009 Marquis

The 2009 Marquis is not exactly a coach that is easy to get your hands on. “The response has been huge,” Gudger said. By huge, he means that every dealer with a 2009 Marquis on the lot hasn’t seen the coach stay there for more than a week.

“2009 Marquis is one of the most dynamic coaches Beaver has produced in a very long time.” -Adam Gudger

“I think the 2009 Marquis is one of the most dynamic coaches Beaver has produced in a very long time.”

To back up that statement, Beaver directs attention to some very big changes this year. One of the most notable is a technological improvement with a fancy name that brings a great deal of simplification. Multiplexing is a relatively new term in the industry, and it was introduced in Beaver models in the last few years. The term is used to describe a different method of electrical wiring. Multiplexing allows the electrician to use far fewer wires because multiple signals can be passed through a single wire. It cleans up run boxes for easier maintenance and troubleshooting, and on the user end, it provides owners with a well-labeled and more convenient system of electrical control.

Traditionally, the multiplex wiring has been used in the house, and the 2007 Marquis came with house multiplexing, but for 2008, Beaver engineers have extended multiplexing to the chassis as well.

In addition to a big functional enhancement, the interior and exterior “wow” factor is another reason for the immediate popularity of the 2009 Marquis.

Instead of an emphasis on muted variations of beige and gold and brown, the ’08 features punchy contrasts of black and silver (Cedar Key), black and copper red (Copper Madeira), black and yellow-gold (Golden Onyx) and black and fiery orange (Tuscany Palace). The colors fade and blend for striking combinations.

On the inside, three out of the four Marquis floorplans are brand new. The Amethyst IV — the bath and a half themed floorplan — is the popular new kid. It features a large rear wash closet with wardrobe, vanity, and shower/tub. Mid-coach, there is a second lavatory with vanity.

The Moonstone III may sound like a carryover, but this year, the full-wall slideout floorplan has been completely redesigned. “We were happy with the Moonstone last year, but we think it’s even better this year,” he said. “We took a lot of our customer suggestions and put them into effect.”

The curbside slideout in the Moonstone III runs from just behind the cockpit to just in front of the rear walk-in wardrobe, and it houses the queen bed, the dresser, a closet, a pantry, the refrigerator, the dinette, a recliner and opera table. So it’s large. It’s also the only triple slideout in a lineup of quad slides.
The third new floorplan is the Pearl IV. The Pearl features a separate shower and lavatory, with a second sink and vanity in the bedroom. The living/dining area houses a large freestanding table with leaf, a recliner with ottoman and opera table, and a 72-inch jackknife sofa.

The Lapis IV is the carryover floorplan, with a gigantic 84-inch jackknife sofa, a similar dual vanity setup to the Pearl, and a great deal of storage at the rear of the coach.

The biggest décor change for 2008 is the addition of granite floors — the first time that this has ever been done on any coach in the entire Monaco Coach Corporation family.

Of course, the muscle behind all this elegance is Caterpillar’s beefy C-13 engine standard, or the optional 600 horsepower C-15 engine, both with Allison’s 4000 MH 6-speed transmission.

In the varied deck of luxury motorhomes available, the 2009 Beaver Marquis is as stacked as they come.

And all those spacious floorplans, that cutting-edge technology, the features and options listed above are just a few of the lineup’s highlights for the 2009 model year.
